Today, 23rd March, 2020, in Wuhan, worker have began going to work, as China ease restrictions on the epicenter of the corona virus. Italy has quickly taken over from Wuhan and has recorded more deaths in the world. With Wuhan recovering, after recording no new case of the virus for the past five days, we can be hopeful that normal life routine will soon be restored all over the world and we can defeat the pandemic sooner rather than later.
The entertainment world as also come down with the corona virus, as celebrities gets infected with it. While we won’t be expecting release of any blockbuster film any time soon, we are hoping for the release of our movie stars from forced quarantine and self-isolation occasioned by the COVID-19. Here is a compilation of the stars and celebrities who have been downed by the corona virus as at 23rd March, 2020.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, his wife were the first celebrities to announced they’ve tested positive for the corona virus. The 63 year old movie star, who also doubles as a filmmaker has been quarantined in his Australia home with his wife, a week after being released from hospital. They are both feeling better now after undergoing treatment. They recently took to social media to share their experience of being quarantined for COVID–19, offering hope to their followers and fans.
Daniel Dae Kim also announced his diagnosis for the corona virus via social media, stating he tested positive. The Lost, Hawaii Five-O and Park in Angel star posted a message on twitter saying: “Ready for a fight? I am. Yesterday I was diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the #corona virus. I posted something on my Instagram page if you’d like to hear a little about my experience.” The father of two has since notified his followers that he has recovered and is in good health. Great news there!
Another movie star that was downed by the corona virus is Idris Elba. The actor who starred as Nelson Mandela in the biography film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, which was based on the life freedom icon and former president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, took to twitter to share the news of his positive diagnosis with a video, his beautiful wife, Sabrina, who also later tested positive for the virus, standing close to him and obviously lending him moral and emotional support. The Golden Globe Award winner for best mall actor and multi-talented star revealed he was asymptomatic and doing well. Obvious, Sabrina is also doing great.
Last among the mentions in this piece is Kristofer Hivju. The Game of Thrones star, who played Tormund Giantsbane in the HBO series tested positive for the COVID-19. He and his family have placed themselves under self-isolation in their home. The Norwegian, who is billed to play Nivellen in The Witcher Season 2, reassured his fans that he is in good health irrespective of the diagnosis.
While it has been one sad tale or another coming in from all over the world, as we all grapple with the  pandemic, we are however optimistic that we will fight this together and win. We’ve missed our lives, especially the euphoria that comes with the release of new blockbusters, which birth new stars. And we believe that soon we will start witnessing the palpable exciting frenzy that the entertainment world brings to our world.
